Fence Installation

Fence Installation in Austin

From property survey to final walk-through. We measure your yard, recommend the right material, handle HOA approval paperwork, pull permits if needed, remove your old fence and install the new one. Most residential jobs finish in 1–3 days.

How Our Installation Process Works

  1. 1. Free on-site estimate. We visit your property, measure the fence line, check soil conditions, note slopes and obstacles, review HOA rules if applicable. You get a fixed price within 24 hours — not a range.
  2. 2. Material selection. We walk you through material options with samples. Cedar vs. pine, board-on-board vs. side-by-side, cap and trim options, stain colors. Your fence, your choices.
  3. 3. Permit and HOA. Fences over 8 feet need an Austin building permit. Most residential fences don't. If your HOA requires approval, we prepare the submission packet with material specs, color samples and site plan.
  4. 4. 811 utility locate. We call 811 before every job. Underground utilities get marked. We don't guess where the gas line is.
  5. 5. Old fence removal. If you have an existing fence, we tear it out, haul it away and prep the fence line. Included in most quotes or quoted separately.
  6. 6. Installation. Posts set in concrete, rails attached, pickets hung, gates installed. Most 150–200 foot residential fences complete in 1–2 days. Larger or more complex jobs take 2–3 days.
  7. 7. Final walk-through. We walk the fence line with you, check every gate, verify alignment and address any concerns before collecting final payment.

Austin-Specific Considerations

  • Soil conditions. Limestone in West Austin/Lakeway. Expansive clay in East Austin/Manor. Sandy loam in some Round Rock areas. Post depth and anchoring method change based on what's underground.
  • Deed restrictions and setbacks. Austin residential zones require fences to be set 0–6 inches inside your property line. Building on the line or over it creates legal problems with neighbors. We survey before we dig.
  • Tree root protection. Austin's Heritage Tree Ordinance protects trees with trunk diameter over 19 inches. Fence posts can't be installed within the critical root zone without a permit. We route around protected trees.
  • Storm damage. Austin gets hail, high winds and ice storms. We build for Central Texas weather — 4x4 posts minimum (6x6 for tall fences), concrete footings, three-rail construction on privacy fences. When the storm hits, your fence stays up.
